Grow A Colony Egg Priority Planner
Which egg to hatch next across early, mid, and late game—Worker, Major, and Drone blocks.
The egg priority planner turns [SKILLS] Grow A Colony hatch decisions into a repeatable queue. sebcaddy1 gives queens three egg lines—Worker, Major, and Drone—each tied to troop modes Follow, Scavenge, and Attack. Wrong order starves food, wrong modes waste combat stats. Use this page with your active build, the eggs and ants guide, and ant roles tier list.
This is a manual planner— not a Script auto-hatch tool.
How to read the planner
Each block is a batch of eggs before you re-evaluate food. Finish a block, run the colony checklist, then continue or switch blocks.
Symbols: W = Worker, M = Major, D = Drone.
Phase 1 — Survival (eggs 1–10)
Build: Early game
Food rule: do not hatch M if surplus is negative.
| Egg # | Hatch | Assign mode after hatch |
|---|---|---|
| 1–4 | W W W W | Scavenge |
| 5 | M | Follow (queen escort) |
| 6–8 | W W W | Scavenge |
| 9 | M | Follow → Attack when first bug clear ready |
| 10 | W | Scavenge |
Graduate when: five minutes food surplus + storage not empty.
Phase 2 — Expansion (eggs 11–25)
Build: Economy or hybrid
Food rule: 2 W minimum per 1 M in queue.
| Block | Sequence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 11–15 | W W W M W | Open second Scavenge lane |
| 16–20 | W W M W W | M clears B-tier blocker on new lane |
| 21–25 | W W W M M | Second M only if first lane saturated |
Spend skill points per skills tier list—food S-tier before combat A-tier.
Phase 3 — Combat ready (eggs 26–40)
Build: Combat prep
Food rule: maintain Worker floor ≥40% of colony.
| Block | Sequence | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 26–30 | W M M W M | Attack on new Majors |
| 31–35 | W M W M W | Escort + patrol split |
| 36–40 | W M M D W | First D only if A-tier bug gate active |
Cross-check threats in bugs and bosses before egg 36 D.
Phase 4 — War and boss (eggs 41+)
Build: full combat
Food rule: 3× reinforcement food bank before war per war and PvP.
Repeating macro block: W M M W M (5 eggs)
- After each macro block, hatch +1 D every third block if Drone count < 20% of combat units.
- Never run two D blocks back-to-back—food spike kills Scavenge.
During active war, prepend extra W W to every block until post-war Worker share ≥45%.
Mode assignment cheat sheet
| Egg type | Default mode | Override |
|---|---|---|
| Worker | Scavenge | Follow if bug path crosses queen |
| Major | Attack (phase 3+) | Follow for escort digs |
| Drone | Attack | Follow at nest choke during war defense |

Decision tree (when blocks disagree)
Ask in order:
- Food negative? → next 3 eggs are W.
- Scavenge lane blocked by S-tier bug? → queue M before next W block.
- War declared? → insert W W at front; pause D eggs.
- Skill point sitting unspent? → spend economy S-tier, then resume queue.
- Idle hatch slots? → economy: more W; combat: more M if bank holds.
Build-specific tweaks
| Build | Tweak |
|---|---|
| Early game | Stop at phase 1 until graduation criteria |
| Economy | Double W blocks; delay phase 3 until 2× food bank |
| Combat | Start phase 3 at egg 20 if food bank already 2× |
Common queue mistakes
- D before ten Majors — Drone without front line.
- M M M M without W — four combat eggs starve the fifth.
- Scavenge Workers converted to fix fights — hatch new M instead.
- Ignoring 5.3 QOL — fairness buffs do not replace W-first math.
Tracking your queue
Keep a paper tally or notepad: current egg number, active block, next three eggs. Reset egg count only when you wipe—not when you log out. After Updates rebalance hatch costs, revalidate blocks in-game.
Optional Codes may shorten phase 1—still follow W-first unless wiki lists a verified boost.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about Grow A Colony on Roblox.
What egg should I hatch first in Grow A Colony?
Always Worker first—four Workers on Scavenge before your first Major is the phase 1 default. Majors and Drones need food Workers gather.
When do I add my first Drone egg?
Phase 3 or later—typically after ten or more Majors and an A-tier bug gate. Economy builds delay Drones further.
How does egg priority change during war?
Prepend Worker pairs to every block and pause Drone eggs until post-war food stabilizes. Combat losses need Scavenge income immediately.
Can I follow this planner on mobile?
Yes—keep this page open beside Roblox and tick egg numbers manually. No official in-game queue export exists.
